Narathiwat: The Narathiwat police chief has confirmed that arrest warrants will soon be issued in connection with the shooting deaths of five paramilitary rangers in Raengae district, Narathiwat province. Pol. Maj. Gen. Prayong Kotrasakha, commander of the Narathiwat Provincial Police, revealed the progress in the case of the terrorist attack that killed five paramilitary soldiers in Tan Yong Mas Subdistrict, Ra-ngae District, Narathiwat Province. He stated that evidence from the scene and CCTV footage indicates there were 13 perpetrators. Over 220 spent shell casings, both 5.56 mm and 7.62 mm caliber, were found at the scene, along with several bullet fragments. These are currently being sent for forensic analysis to link them to firearms used in other security-related incidents in the southern border provinces. One person involved in the purchase and sale of the vehicle used in the attack has been questioned, and their information has been helpful in identifying other accomplices. It is expected that arrest warrants for this group of perpetrators will be issued soon.

According to Thai News Agency, the group of insurgents is led by Masaufi Timo, Abdullah Masae, Ismaae Chewae, and Azizun Madaae, operational leaders with a force of more than 10 people operating in the districts of Chanae, Raengae, Si Sakhon, and Ruesoh. After the unrest, they will flee into the vast and complex mountain ranges of Khao Motae and Khao Tawe.
