Bangkok: Deputy Government Spokesperson Airin invites children to register for the "Savings Universe" piggy bank in celebration of National Children's Day 2026. Registration will be open from January 5-8, 2026.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Airin Phanrit, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, announced that both the public and private sectors are actively organizing activities for National Children's Day 2026, which falls on Saturday, January 10, 2026. Among these is the Government Savings Bank (GSB), which annually participates in Children's Day events. This year, the GSB is hosting activities under the theme "The Savings Universe," offering children a magical underwater adventure with whales and friends. These activities aim to blend imagination with knowledge, encouraging a spirit of saving and fostering a love for the ocean. In partnership with other organizations, GSB is offering educational, entertaining, and gift-giving activities at its headquarters.
The bank has introduced a special piggy bank for the occasion, titled "Save Money, Save Sea Life." Crafted from recycled coastal plastic waste, this whale-shaped piggy bank symbolizes the richness of Thailand's seas and embodies the concept that saving small amounts of money can contribute to a secure financial future while also protecting the environment. The production of these piggy banks has helped reduce plastic waste by 18 tons, supporting marine ecosystem protection. This initiative aligns with the National Children's Day motto for 2026, as announced by Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul: "Love Thailand, Care for the World."
Children and youth interested in the "Save Money, Save Sea Life" whale piggy bank can sign up to reserve their opportunity to deposit money and receive the piggy bank through three channels: the GSB website (www.gsb.or.th), the Line Official account (GSB Society), and the MyMo application. The registration period is from January 5th to 8th, 2026, requiring the child's national identification number. A minimum deposit of 100 baht is necessary on Saturday, January 10th, 2026, at any GSB branch nationwide, via the MyMo app, or at an Automatic Deposit Machine (ADM). Proof of registration is needed to collect the piggy bank at the registered branch, with one piggy bank available per reservation, subject to limited availability. Registration remains open from January 10th to 31st, 2026.
