Shenzhen: The legend of the Bai mafia has come to an end as China executes four leaders of the notorious Bai family criminal gang for a series of severe offenses.
According to Thai News Agency, the execution was carried out in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, following a rigorous legal process that concluded with the Supreme People's Court's approval.
The four gang members, including Bai Yingchang, were sentenced to death in November 2025 for a multitude of crimes, such as intentional murder, telecommunications fraud, and drug trafficking. Despite appealing the decision, the Guangdong High People's Court upheld the original ruling, which was later confirmed by the Supreme People's Court.
The court revealed that the Bai family criminal gang had established multiple operational bases in Myanmar's Kokang region. Their criminal activities included telecommunications fraud, illegal gambling, murder, intentional assault, kidnapping, extortion, and procuring and forcing prostitution. The financial scope of their fraud and gambling operations exceeded 29 billion yuan, and their actions led to the deaths of six Chinese citizens, with many others injured.
Bai Yingchang's involvement extended to conspiring with others to smuggle and manufacture approximately 11 tons of methamphetamine. Given the gravity of the crimes and their severe consequences, the Supreme People's Court legally sanctioned the death sentences for Bai Yingchang, Yang Liqiang, Hu Xiaojiang, and Chen Guangyi, marking a significant blow to organized crime in the region.
