Beijing: Wang Yi emphasized that avoiding the use of force or intimidation is beneficial to all parties, including Israel. Xinhua News Agency reported on Tuesday that Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), held a telephone conversation with Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar at the latter's request and received a summary of Israel's position on the current situation from Saar.
According to Thai News Agency, Wang stated that refraining from the use of force or the threat of force in international relations is a fundamental interest of all parties, including Israel. He added that China has always supported resolving urgent international and regional issues through dialogue and consultation, and that all parties should abide by the objectives and principles of the United Nations Charter.
Over the years, China has promoted a political solution to the Iranian nuclear issue, and recent discussions between Iran and the United States have shown significant progress and helped address Israel's security concerns. Unfortunately, this process has now been stalled by a military attack. China opposes Israel and the United States' attacks on Iran. The use of force cannot truly solve the problem; it will only create new problems and have serious consequences.
The true value of military strength lies not in the battlefield but in preventing war. China calls for an immediate cessation of military operations to prevent the conflict from escalating and spiraling out of control. China maintains its fair stance on the Middle East issue and will continue to play a constructive role in promoting de-escalation.
Saar hopes to urge Israel to take concrete measures to ensure the safety of Chinese personnel and organizations. Saar stated that Israel takes this matter very seriously and will fully protect the safety of Chinese personnel and organizations.
