Chulaphan Amornvivat Reaffirms Readiness Amidst Coalition Speculations

Bangkok: "Chulaphan" emphasizes his readiness to fulfill any role as Jullapan reiterated that there has been no approach regarding joining a coalition government with Bhumjaithai Party, stating that it is a matter for the party with the most votes, but that they are ready to fulfill any role. Meanwhile, Phumtham said it's not the time to discuss government formation amidst doubts about the election schedule, emphasizing the need to consider the feelings of the people.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Chulaphan Amornvivat, leader of the Pheu Thai Party, along with Mr. Phumtham Wechayachai, a key figure in the Pheu Thai Party, gave an interview regarding the possibility of the Pheu Thai Party joining a coalition government with the Bhumjaithai Party.

Mr. Chulaphan emphasized that there is currently no such arrangement or coordination, as it is a matter for the party that comes first in forming the government. He understands that they are currently awaiting clarification on the number of seats, as the figures from the Election Commission are still fluctuating. He affirmed that the Pheu Thai Party will not be taking any action and is ready to fulfill all its roles.

Regarding whether he would consider the invitation from the Bhumjaithai Party if the figures are finalized, Mr. Julaphan said that he hasn't started thinking about it yet because ultimately, they have to sit down and discuss it. It's not his decision or anyone else's, but rather a decision for the party's executive committee.

Mr. Phumtham added that today we must wait for the figures to be clear and for the public to be comfortable with the election results. However, since public sentiment is still unsettled and uncertain, discussing the formation of a government, in his opinion, does not take into account public feelings and the fairness of the outcome. He doesn't want the focus to be on how to form a government, but rather on whether this election was fair enough to accept all consequences, and whether the feelings of the people are truly important.

"Please don't ask yet who will form a government with whom. Ask whether today is the appropriate time, how the Election Commission will take responsibility, and what will be done about the many issues that have arisen. I would like the media to help follow up on these matters. I reiterate that we must wait for everything to settle down and become clear," Mr. Phumtham said.
