Nakhon ratchasima: The Ministry of Culture is preparing to respond to funeral arrangements following the tragic crane collapse onto an express train. The incident, which resulted in multiple injuries and fatalities, occurred when a crane used in the construction of a high-speed railway collapsed onto the express train No. 21, Bangkok-Ubon Ratchathani, while it was passing kilometer marker 220, Moo 9, Ban Thanon Khot, Si Khiew Subdistrict, Si Khiew District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province.

According to Thai News Agency, His Majesty the King has graciously accepted the deceased under royal patronage, offering funeral rites and financial assistance of 20,000 baht per family. The injured have also been accepted as patients under royal patronage. Mr. Prasop Riangngern, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, announced that the Ministry had been informed by the Royal Household about the incident and is coordinating with provincial and regional offices to ensure a respectful and smooth royal funeral ceremony.

The Ministry of Culture has instructed provincial cultural offices to expedite coordination with provincial governors and hospitals to submit the names of the deceased for royal funeral ceremonies. Meetings have been held with relevant parties to prepare resources, personnel, and necessary arrangements. Provincial governors or their representatives will preside over the ceremonies, reporting to the Office of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Culture for immediate coordination and support from the central government.

Efforts are being coordinated with the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Public Health to inform relevant agencies in the affected areas. The Ministry of Culture is committed to handling all royal funeral ceremonies with respect and professionalism, offering its condolences and support to the families of the deceased, the injured, and all affected parties.
