Bangkok: The 'Dangerous Housewife,' known as "Aunt Ann," finds herself in a precarious situation as she sits behind bars unable to meet bail requirements. Her bail was set at 30,000 baht by the court, but her inability to pay has resulted in her detention at the Central Women's Correctional Institution.
According to Thai News Agency, the situation has captured public attention after "Aunt Ann," a housekeeper, was accused of mixing disinfectant into a 2-year-old's baby bottle. This incident has led to widespread media coverage. On December 31st, the investigators from Bang Phongphuang Police Station requested the Bangkok South District Court to postpone the indictment, which includes charges of premeditated assault, food adulteration, and actions likely to cause health harm under Sections 295, 296, and 236 of the Criminal Code.
The Bangkok South District Court agreed to the request, granting a six-day postponement of the indictment from December 31, 2025, to January 5, 2026. Despite a bail application, the court required a full bail of 30,000 baht, which the defendant failed to provide. Consequently, a detention warrant was issued, leading to her transfer to the Central Women's Correctional Institution pending further investigation.
The allegations against Aunt Ann are serious, with accusations of her mixing disinfectant into baby formula. Police investigations revealed suspicious activities, including Aunt Ann hiding in a storage room and allegedly planning to re-enter a house to steal while the victim was at the hospital. Her arrest was characterized by shouting insults at media personnel.
Further investigations into her background unearthed a history of theft, including incidents at Siriraj Hospital in 2024 and a condominium in the On Nut area in August 2025. Her repeated offenses eventually culminated in her arrest and current imprisonment.
