Department of Highways Denies Toll Collection on M6 Highway in September 2026

Bangkok: The Department of Highways has issued a warning that the news circulating about toll collection on the M6 highway in September 2026 is false and should not be shared. The department has taken steps to clarify the situation regarding the toll collection on the M6 motorway.

According to Thai News Agency, recent reports on social media claimed that tolls would be collected on Motorway No. 6, which runs from Bang Pa-in to Nakhon Ratchasima, starting in September 2026. The Department of Highways has refuted these claims, stating that the information is incorrect. The M6 motorway project is currently under accelerated construction, with completion expected by the end of 2026.

Following the completion of construction, the Department of Highways plans to open the M6 motorway for public trial use without any toll charges for the entire route initially. This approach mirrors the strategy previously employed for the Bang Yai - Kanchanaburi M81 motorway. The department has assured that the official date for toll collection will be communicated to the public well in advance.

The Department of Highways has urged the public not to share or circulate information that could lead to inaccuracies or misunderstandings, to avoid causing confusion. The public is advised to rely solely on information from the Department of Highways' official channels.
