DNA Confirms Identity of Burnt Body as Abducted Young Manager

Lopburi: DNA results confirm that the burnt body found in an abandoned house in Lopburi province is that of the "young manager."

According to Thai News Agency, the DNA test results reveal that the unidentified body burned in an abandoned house in Chai Badan District, Lopburi Province, is the same person as a young manager of a medical equipment sales company.

Following the discovery of a mysterious burnt body in Chai Badan District, the Bangkok Metropolitan Police investigation team suspected it might be the body of Mr. Rut or Top, a manager of a medical equipment company who was abducted from the Sutthisan area on February 18th. The body, along with other evidence, was sent for forensic examination at the Institute of Forensic Medicine, Police Hospital, to confirm its identity.

Police Major General Wirun Suphasinghsiripreecha, Commander of the Forensic Science Institute, revealed that an autopsy is underway. However, due to the severe burning, facial features are unrecognizable, necessitating DNA sample collection from the body for comparison with the deceased's parents. DNA samples have already been collected from the parents and are being compared to determine a match, with results expected within three days.

Regarding the progress of the abduction and murder case, investigators at Sutthisan Police Station await forensic results to confirm the body's identity as the missing Mr. Rut. Only then will additional charges of premeditated murder be filed against the eight suspects. Evidence links the mastermind or person who hired them to the crime, and an arrest warrant will be requested immediately.

Pol. Maj. Gen. Kiatikul Sonthinern, Commander of Metropolitan Police Division 2, revealed that they are still awaiting forensic results and DNA comparisons to determine if the body matches the missing person. They are unable to conclude the case or request an arrest warrant for the person who hired the murder until confirmation.

Regarding the questioning of the private investigator from the company that installed the GPS tracker in the missing person's vehicle, they have been questioned and stated they were hired by a woman to monitor the missing person's movements. The private investigator then contacted a police sergeant from the Cyber Police to check the vehicle owner's registration. The sergeant has been summoned for questioning and could face charges if found acting without authority.

Reports indicate that investigators are preparing both disciplinary and criminal charges against a cyber police sergeant for allegedly accepting a task to check the civil registry of the young business manager. Pol. Gen. Siam Boonsom, the Bangkok Metropolitan Police Commissioner, reported the matter to Pol. Gen. Kittirat Phanphet, the Police Chief, who ordered disciplinary and criminal proceedings against the officer upon learning of his involvement.

The latest DNA test results confirm that the unidentified body is that of the young manager of a medical equipment company.
