Bangkok: Discussing the disclosure of 121 boxes of documents seized from the Office of the Auditor General’s Department’s work site, the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) has invited civil engineering officials, representatives of the State Audit Office, and all joint ventures under the State Audit Office building contract for a preparatory discussion.
According to Thai News Agency, the Special Case Investigation Division (DSI) and officials from the Department of Public Works and Town and Country Planning have jointly devised a plan to open the 121 boxes of documents. These documents, which the DSI seized from 26 shipping containers at the State Audit Office’s temporary construction site, are crucial to understanding the building construction project. Present at the opening were representatives from the State Audit Office and all joint ventures involved in the construction project.
The seized documents encompass a wide range of materials, including contracts, blueprints, financial documents, materials-related documents, purchase orders, construction documents, shop drawings, and records of interactions between subcontractors. They also include work documents of Chinese and Thai engineers and inspection details of materials such as concrete and steel. These documents were not previously found at the Office of the Auditor General or other agencies that had conducted searches.
In addition, the investigation has scheduled questioning sessions for 10 engineer witnesses per day, whose names and signatures appear in the documents controlling the work of the Office of the Auditor General’s Building. Out of a total of 40 summonses, nine engineers have confirmed their intention to meet with the investigators today.
