Bangkok: Supporters eagerly awaited the candidate numbers for the 33 Bangkok constituencies, with "Earth Pongsakorn" securing the coveted number 1 spot.
According to Thai News Agency, the election results for the 33 parliamentary constituencies in Bangkok were announced, featuring a total of 446 candidates. "Earth Pongsakorn" secured number 1, while "Yi Thankun" received number 12, "Bank Suphanat" was given number 5, "Lory" obtained number 8, and "Ekkapop" received number 13. The race also saw the participation of Ruangrai and Waranchai.
Reporters noted that on the first day of registration, a total of 446 candidates registered for the parliamentary race in Bangkok's 33 constituencies. Each constituency hosted more than 10 candidates. The election committee members facilitated the registration process by explaining the procedures. Following the verification of candidates' documents and registration fees, the committee conducted a lottery to determine the order in which candidates would submit their documents and receive their candidate numbers, as the candidates could not reach a consensus on the submission order.
Once the candidate numbers were drawn, supporters enthusiastically attached the numbers to campaign posters and cheered loudly. For instance, in District 1, Mr. Thankun Jit-isara of the New Opportunity Party secured number 12, while in Constituency 4, Mr. Pongsakorn Kwanmuang of the Democrat Party was assigned number 1, and Mr. Ruangrai Leekitwattana of the Palang Pracharath Party received number 5.
In Constituency 7, Mr. Chuenchob Kongudom of the Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party was given number 4, and Ms. Lalita Rerksumran of the Bhumjaithai Party received number 6. In Constituency 8, Mr. Surachart Thianthong of the Pheu Thai Party was assigned number 5.
District 9 saw Mr. Suphanat Meenchainan of the People's Party acquiring number 5, while Ms. Patcharawan Benjavitvilai of the Rak Chart Party received number 7, and Mr. Sayant Chanmuangphuek of the Pheu Thai Party received number 8. In Constituency 11, Mr. Ekkapop Lueangprasert of the Bhumjaithai Party was designated number 13, with Mr. Waranchai Chokchana of the New Democracy Party receiving number 3.
In Constituency 13, Mr. Panupong Laksanawisit of the Democrat Party was assigned number 8, and Mr. Man Charoenwal of the Pheu Thai Party received number 2. Mr. Phonphum Wipattiphumipat of the Pheu Thai Party secured number 6 in Constituency 15.
Constituency 16 saw Mr. Jirayu Huangsap of the Pheu Thai Party receiving number 7, and Mr. Sunan Meenamanee of the Democrat Party was given number 8. Mr. Pairoj Issarasereepong of the Pheu Thai Party was assigned number 6 in Constituency 17.
In District 18, Mr. Thiratchai Phanthumas of the People's Party was designated number 10. District 19 had Ms. Kwanjira Meenchainan of the Pheu Thai Party receiving number 1. Meanwhile, Ms. Theerarat Samrejvanich of the Pheu Thai Party was given number 11 in Constituency 20.
Mr. Pongpol Yodmuangcharoen of the Bhumjaithai Party was assigned number 8 in Constituency 22, and Mr. Wattana Sengpairoh of the Palang Pracharath Party received number 9 in Constituency 23. Lastly, Mr. Supaipol Phenkhae of the Pheu Thai Party was designated number 1 in Constituency 33.
After obtaining their candidate numbers, candidates submitted their application documents and paid the necessary fees. They then proceeded to meet their supporters and immediately began their campaign activities. The registration period for constituency-based parliamentary candidates will remain open until December 31st.
