‘Elaboo Boo’ Drug Dealer Marketing Strategy

Administrative and police officers raided a karaoke bar on Sanambin Road in Tambon Ban Du, Amphoe Mueang Chiang Rai late last night, which was open past closing time, and found four girls under the age of 18 drinking with six other young men, including two of them. Drugs including ketamine, methamphetamine, and ecstasy were found. Shockingly, five pills of ecstasy pills in the shape of a popular doll, La Boo Boo, were found inside. From the investigation, the suspect w ho was in possession of ecstasy pills claimed that he had ordered them at a price of 800 baht per pill and admitted that this was the first time he had seen the ecstasy pill in the form of Labubu. Police are expanding the source of the Labubu ecstasy, which the Director of the Office of the Narcotics Control Board Region 5 believes is a marketing strategy by drug dealers to attract new users. Most customers of ecstasy are night owls and have a good reputation, so they try to make ecstasy look fashionable and modern. Over the past few years, new forms of ecstasy have been found, including images of former President Donald Trump, pink Hello Kitty ecstasy, monkey ecstasy, King Kong ecstasy, and many other famous branded products. However, the structure of the drug is still as strong as before. It can be said that its appearance is cute but its effects are deeply dangerous. If taken in excess, it can be fatal. Ecstasy, or extra-ci, love drugs, or rape drugs, as they are called, has become a popular drug for par ty people in major tourist cities. According to the news, production in neighboring countries of Thailand has not been found, which still focus on producing methamphetamine and ice. Most ecstasy is imported from abroad, so the price is as high as 400-800 baht per pill. While methamphetamine pills have not been found to have changed much in their pill form, there are only the addition of colors or reflective substances like the fluffy methamphetamine pills because they are cheap and popular in the market.
