Election Commission Announces Dates and Locations for Parliamentary Vote Recounts and Re-Vote

Bangkok: The Election Commission of Thailand has announced the locations and dates for the recount of parliamentary votes in seven locations across four provinces. These recounts are scheduled for February 26-27, with a re-vote set for March 1 in Phayao Province.

According to Thai News Agency, the recounts for the party-list MPs will take place in six specific locations on Thursday, February 26. These locations include various polling stations in Prachuap Khiri Khan, Phetchabun, and Kamphaeng Phet Provinces. Notably, in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, recounts will occur in the Sam Roi Yot District at polling stations in Rai Mai and Sam Roi Yot Subdistricts, with the latter scheduled for 10:00 AM at the Sam Roi Yot District Hall. In Phetchabun Province, recounts are set for 10:00 AM at the Phetchabun Provincial Administrative Organization and the Chon Daen District Hall for polling stations in Mueang Phetchabun and Nong Phai Districts, respectively.

Additionally, recounts in Kamphaeng Phet Province will take place in Mueang Kamphaeng Phet District for polling stations in Nikhom Thung Pho Thale and Thep Nakhon Subdistricts, with the latter scheduled for 3:00 PM at the Election Commission Office. A separate recount is scheduled for February 27 in Sakon Nakhon Province at 9:00 AM in the Mueang Sakon Nakhon District Hall for polling station 32 in That Choeng Chum Subdistrict.

The re-vote, prompted by discrepancies between voter turnout and ballots cast, will occur in Phayao Province. This re-election is set for Polling Station 6 in Tha Wang Thong Subdistrict on Sunday, March 1, at 8:00 AM, at the Ban Sala School cafeteria. The Election Commission of Thailand urges eligible voters in this area to participate in the re-vote.
