Bangkok: The Election Commission announced the certification of 100 MPs from the party-list system, along with 3 additional MPs from constituencies, excluding Suphan Buri Constituency 2. The Election Commission (EC) meeting this morning resolved to certify all 100 members of parliament (MPs) elected through the party-list system. This followed a submission of data from the EC office regarding the results of the review after recounts and vote changes were conducted in some constituencies.
According to Thai News Agency, the 100 proportional representation MPs comprise representatives from various political parties, including the People's Party, Bhumjaithai Party, Pheu Thai Party, Democrat Party, Economic Party, Kla Tham Party, Pheu Chart Thai Party, and Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party. Meanwhile, 13 smaller political parties were each allocated one proportional representation MP.
In addition, the meeting also approved the election of 3 more Members of Parliament (MPs), namely Mr. Akkra Phromphao of the Kla Tham Party from Phayao Province, Constituency 1; Pol. Gen. Surapol Wiratayosin of the Bhumjaithai Party from Chanthaburi Province, Constituency 1; and Mr. Kampee Chuenban of the Bhumjaithai Party from Chanthaburi Province, Constituency 2.
In Suphan Buri Province, Constituency 2, Mr. Nattawut Prasertsriwan of the Bhumjaithai Party has not yet been certified by the Election Commission. The official results of the parliamentary elections and the referendum will be announced by Acting Sub-Lieutenant Phasakon Siriphakayaporn, Deputy Secretary-General of the Election Commission and spokesperson for the Election Commission Office, at 4:00 PM today.
