Bangkok: The Election Commission of Thailand (ECT) has officially announced the results of the vote count for both constituency and party-list Members of Parliament (MPs), except for three constituencies that require a recount or re-vote.
According to Thai News Agency, these exceptions include Bangkok Constituency 15, Nan Province Constituency 1, and Udon Thani Province Constituency 6. The announcements from the District Election Commissions are published on the ECT website.
The vote count results currently available on the ECT website are provisional and may be subject to changes due to recounts and re-voting in certain polling stations. This process is in accordance with the Organic Act on the Election of Members of the House of Representatives, B.E. 2561 (2018) and its amendments. The act outlines specific circumstances under which vote counting may be suspended, such as unforeseen events like riots or natural disasters, as detailed in Section 121.
The act also addresses discrepancies between the number of voters and ballots cast, as mentioned in Section 122, and inaccuracies in vote counting for proportional representation elections, as per Section 124. Once these issues are resolved, the District Election Commission will announce the corrected vote count results and update them on the ECT website.
The unofficial vote count results, known as ECT Report 69, will also be accessible on the ECT's official website, providing transparency and updates to the public regarding the election process.
