Election Commission of Thailand Issues New Regulation for Overseas Elections

Bangkok: The Election Commission of Thailand (ECT) has released Regulation No. 2 concerning the election of members of the House of Representatives outside the Kingdom of Thailand for the year B.E. 2568 (2025). This regulation aims to address the conduct of elections beyond the country’s borders.

According to Thai News Agency, the new regulation seeks to enhance the comprehensiveness and clarity of electoral processes for Thai citizens residing abroad. It was officially published in the Royal Gazette on December 19, 2025, and became effective the following day. The ECT’s initiative reflects ongoing efforts to ensure that overseas elections are conducted efficiently and transparently.
