Bangkok: The Election Commission is in the process of submitting documents containing responses to a police inquiry concerning a complaint filed against six citizens for allegedly photographing ballot papers during a recent re-vote. According to Thai News Agency, Deputy Secretary-General of the Election Commission, Krachit Charoeninth, has disclosed that the commission is preparing answers to 30 questions posed by the police. This follows a complaint filed against six individuals accused of photographing ballot papers in Khan Na Yao district. The individuals allegedly attempted to decode QR codes and barcodes on both constituency and party-list ballots to trace voters' choices during the re-vote at polling station 9, constituency 15, on February 22nd. The six accused include Mr. Thammathee Sukchotirat, Director of D-Vote at Sri Patum University; Mr. Thanarat Kuawattanaphan, CEO of Domecloud; Mr. Chaipon Chavalavanichchai, known as "Kru Chai," owner of the MIB Marketing In Black Facebook page; Mr. Somchai Sr isutthiyakorn, former Election Commissioner; Mr. Parit Wacharasind, spokesperson for the People's Party; and Mr. Songpol Ruangsamut, head photographer of spacebar. Mr. Krachit mentioned that while the police had initially scheduled him to provide further information, no Election Commission officials have been set up for questioning as of yet. The commission's immediate task is to submit the written responses today, without Mr. Krachit personally involved in the submission. Any questioning of EC officials will only take place after these responses are reviewed. Pol. Col. Jetnipat Siriwat, commander of Division 1 of the Crime Suppression Division, stated that it remains uncertain whether those involved have been scheduled for statement provision. The complexity of the case, involving senior political figures, necessitates the formation of a disciplinary committee led by a Deputy Commissioner of the Crime Suppression Division, which is still under consideration. Regarding the 30 questions directed at the Elec tion Commission, Pol. Col. Jetnipat indicated a lack of detailed information. These questions may involve requests for factual clarification to aid the investigation. For precise details, he recommended contacting the Deputy Secretary-General of the Election Commission, who is directly handling the matter.
