Ang thong: Fire at a rice bran oil refinery on Asia Road in Chaiyo District, Ang Thong Province, has been brought under control. Following an explosion, officials successfully closed the valve on a large chemical tank.

According to Thai News Agency, the explosion at the rice bran oil refining facility resulted in serious injuries to three individuals. In response to the incident, authorities deployed over ten fire trucks to manage the blaze, which was exacerbated by strong winds and the presence of over 15,000 liters of hexane used in the production process. To efficiently manage the situation, the deputy governor, along with the Ang Thong Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department and other relevant agencies, established a command center at the site.

Officials succeeded in closing the valve on a large chemical tank, leaving approximately 1,000 liters of chemical in the system prior to the fire. Efforts are currently ongoing to control the fire using foam while assessing the situation with factory officials. Additionally, measures are being taken to regulate the temperature of the chemical tank. The fire is now under control, and the situation is improving as the area is being cleared to fully manage the blaze.
