Eindhoven: "Focus" Natthanicha Jongproongklang clinched a gold medal in boxing at a competition held in the Netherlands. In a thrilling final of the women's 54kg weight class at the Eindhoven Box Cup 2026, the Thai-New Zealand mixed martial arts boxer and reigning SEA Games champion faced the Netherlands' Gabriela Vierheim. The bout was closely contested, with both athletes exchanging blows and scoring consistently across three intense rounds. The judges awarded Jongproongklang a narrow 3-2 victory, earning her the gold medal and the accolade of best female boxer of the tournament.

According to Thai News Agency, Mariano Gonzalez, the Cuban head coach, expressed a measured satisfaction with the performance but emphasized the need for tactical adjustments and improved accuracy. These refinements are deemed essential for the team to achieve its aim of securing a medal at the upcoming Asian Games.

The Thai national boxing team is preparing to participate in the World Boxing Cup China 2026, scheduled from June 15-20 in Guiyang, People's Republic of China.
