Government Urges Public to Use POLICE CARE App for Fraud Prevention

Bangkok: The government advises the public to download the POLICE CARE application to check for fraudulent accounts and phone numbers. Ms. Airin Phanrit, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, revealed that the government is focused on raising awareness about online fraud and issuing warnings about online scams and various forms of online fraud. Despite the government's integrated efforts to prevent fraud, online scams continue, causing distress to the public.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Airin stated that the government, through the Royal Thai Police, has developed the "POLICE CARE" app, a police application for the public. The POLICE CARE app features various police services for the public, including legal knowledge, preparation for filing a police report, safety alerts, finding nearby police stations, a citizen's guide, account freezing, online reporting, police officer verification, and checking traffic ticket and case information. The public can access this information conveniently and quickly.

Furthermore, to provide comprehensive services, a complete, all-in-one police application, "POLICE CARE," has recently launched two new features: "Check for Scammer Accounts" and "Check for Scammer Phone Numbers." These features are now available for download on both Android (via the Play Store) and iOS (via the App Store).

The policy aims to develop this application to help prevent potential crimes against the public. The government prioritizes addressing online threats from scammers in various forms. Therefore, the Royal Thai Police has developed two additional features in the POLICE CARE application: a link to the online reporting database, a database of scammers' bank account numbers, and a database of scammers' phone numbers. This allows the public to verify information before it happens and help deter scammers. Users can access the POLICE CARE application, check their information, and then log in through ThaiD for user security and data protection. They can then enter a suspicious phone number or account number. The system will quickly process the information and indicate whether it belongs to a scammer. If it's a bank account, a warning message will appear stating 'Scammer,' 'Danger! Do not transfer any money.'
