Influencer Claims Police Demanded Money for Fuel to Investigate Burglary

Bangkok: A female influencer has revealed that police officers demanded money for fuel to investigate a burglary at her home. An investigation has been launched.

According to Thai News Agency, the influencer, known as "Moo Fern Moo Mop," posted a video alleging that officers from Muang Sam Sip Police Station demanded 1,000 baht for gasoline when she reported the crime. She expressed doubt about whether the police station was genuinely serving the public.

The Ubon Ratchathani Provincial Police have instructed the Superintendent of Muang Sam Sip Police Station to investigate the matter immediately, suggesting that the issue may stem from a misunderstanding or miscommunication. They assured the public that police stations in the province have adequate fuel supplies and that all cases will be handled fairly and without discrimination.

In response to the allegations, Muang Sam Sip Police Station has set up a committee to investigate the claims. A formal order requires the investigation to be completed and reported by April 9, 2026.

However, the situation escalated when the influencer expressed her frustration on Facebook, criticizing the police for allegedly blaming the victim and covering up the wrongdoing. She challenged the police to find the truth rather than evade it, offering an audio recording as evidence. Reports indicate that the police plan to issue a further clarification on the matter.
