In his message, Kim emphasized the significance of the alliance between North Korea and Russia, describing it as a valuable common asset to be preserved for future generations.

According to Thai News Agency, Kim's message follows a New Year's greeting from President Putin, which was sent to Kim on December 18. KCNA reported on Thursday that in his message, the Russian leader described 2025 as a "special" year for Moscow-Pyongyang relations, highlighting the potential for further cooperation and strengthening of ties.

Additionally, President Putin's message acknowledged the participation of North Korean soldiers in conflict zones such as the Kursk region in western Russia.
