KPI Poll Reveals Thai People’s Perspectives on Cash Handout Policies

Bangkok: The King Prajadhipok Institute's Poll (KPI Poll) unveiled the results of a survey examining Thai people's views on political parties' cash handout policies. Conducted exclusively among Line Today users, the survey posed the question, "Does a cash handout policy affect voting decisions?" The findings revealed that 67.1% of respondents believed it had little to no effect, while 29.8% believed it had a moderate to significant effect, and 3.1% expressed no opinion.

According to Thai News Agency, the survey also explored confidence levels in the cash handout policy. It found that 66.4% of participants had little to no confidence, 22.6% had some to a great deal of confidence, and 11% had no opinion. When asked whether the cash handout policy is merely a strategy for gaining votes, 58.6% of respondents somewhat or strongly agreed, while 30.9% somewhat or strongly disagreed, and 10.5% had no opinion.

The survey further investigated opinions on whether "cash handout policies help develop the country." The results showed that 66.6% of participants believe it helps only slightly to very little, 20.5% think it helps a considerable amount to the greatest extent, and 12.9% had no opinion.

The regional survey findings revealed varying opinions on the statement "cash handout policies have 'no' effect on voting results." In the Northern region, 55.3% of respondents agreed, 54.5% in the Northeastern region, 70.2% in the Central region, 72.5% in the Eastern region, and 80.5% in the Southern region shared this view.
