Bangkok: Teacher and entertainer Kru Auan Maneenuch, approaching her 65th birthday, has recently opened up about the changes in her life and her views on love and happiness. Having faced a significant reduction in her television appearances following the COVID-19 pandemic, Kru Auan has shifted her focus from the screen to more personal pursuits.
According to Thai News Agency, Kru Auan shared at the Eurovision Song Contest Asia 2026 launch event that the pandemic led to the closure of TV shows where she was a regular commentator. As a result, her visibility on television diminished. Embracing this new phase, she has found contentment in smaller joys, particularly in teaching at her music school, which she describes as her true happiness over her 42-year career in the industry. During her time away from TV, she devoted herself to caring for her bedridden mother until her passing, which taught her resilience and coping with loss.
In a startling incident last year, Kru Auan received a threatening eviction letter from an anonymous source demanding she vacate her home of 50 years. She expressed her disbelief and frustration, considering her long-standing ownership of the property. CCTV footage revealed the perpetrator to be a mentally unstable neighbor. Despite this, Kru Auan chose not to involve the police, expressing compassion for the individual's condition and instead opting to take safety precautions at home.
Regarding her personal life, Kru Auan candidly stated that she is happily single, having come to terms with her life without a partner. She views her solitude as fulfilling, surrounded by the love and support of the public and the media. As she plans for retirement, her focus is on teaching young students and enjoying simple pleasures such as gardening and fish raising at home. With these pursuits, she affirms her contentment and happiness.
