Bangkok: Police are questioning Nana Raibeena in a case of investment fraud involving a group of victims and her friends in the “Angel Gang.” Initially, her lawyer has prepared a 500,000 baht bail for her release in court.
According to Thai News Agency, police from the Technology Crime Suppression Division (TCSD) escorted Nana Raibeena from her residence in the Phra Khanong area to the Central Investigation Bureau for questioning and formal charges, including fingerprinting and registration. This follows the arrest warrant issued by the TCSD earlier this morning, along with various documents and evidence, including a white car seized as evidence.
Nana calmly got out of the car, wearing a cap, sunglasses, and a cloth covering her body. She was escorted by a female police officer and taken into the Central Investigation Bureau. The media tried to ask about her feelings and the story of the case, but Nana remained calm and did not answer the reporters’ questions.
The arrest took place after a popular Facebook page posted information claiming that a celebrity with the initials N. had invited friends to invest, promising returns in the form of interest and dividends, but ultimately defaulted on their debts. Some people borrowed money and never repaid it, resulting in losses totaling hundreds of millions of baht. It was later revealed that the person with the initials N. was Nana Raibeena, a member of the “Angel Gang.” Nana’s arrest today stems in part from a complaint filed by actress Jenny Tienphosuwan and a group of victims with the police on November 24th.
Prior to her arrest, Nana posted on Instagram announcing her decision to step back from the YBL Thailand project to address her own issues. This was her final post before police reached her this morning.
Nana’s lawyer, Saiyut Pengbunchu, questioned whether the arrest was a ploy to create a motive, as Nana had requested to surrender on December 1st, but the police refused. Then, on December 2nd, police requested an arrest warrant, and the arrest took place today. He questioned whether this ploy could be a ploy to create a motive for the police.
Regarding Nana’s current process, police will record the arrest, compile a history of the suspect, and conduct a questioning session before bringing her to court for detention tomorrow. Initially, Saiyut’s lawyer has prepared a 500,000 baht bail bond to post at the court. Regarding Nana, after discussions, she remains concerned about her child, bail, and work.
