Nakhon phanom: “Madame Pang” Nualphan Lamsam, President of the Football Association of Thailand, has been honored with an honorary doctorate in Tourism and Hotel Business Management by Nakhon Phanom University. The prestigious degree was presented by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn on December 24, 2025, during a ceremony held at the Wachirabopit Auditorium on the Mrukhanakhon campus of Nakhon Phanom University.

According to Thai News Agency, the event was marked by a warm atmosphere, highlighted by the presence of Madame Pang’s family, who gathered to celebrate her achievement. The ceremony was attended by notable figures such as Professor Dr. Thawatchai Supadit, President of Nakhon Phanom University, and Associate Professor Dr. Nonlachat Veeranuvat, Dean of the College of Tourism and Service Industry. Faculty members, staff, and student representatives also joined in presenting bouquets of flowers to extend their congratulations.

In addition to her recent academic accolade, Madame Pang has been appointed Chairperson of FIFA’s Development Committee, becoming the first woman globally to hold this position. Her term is set from 2025 to 2029. Madame Pang has already commenced her duties, participating in committee meetings in France and Qatar, demonstrating her commitment to advancing the global football landscape.
