Bangkok: MEA (Metropolitan Electricity Authority) warns the public to be wary of scammers impersonating officials to inspect or replace electricity meters. They advise the public to follow these steps:
1. Check the employee's identification card.
2. Check the assignment letter from MEA.
3. We do not have a policy of collecting cash before proceeding.
According to Thai News Agency, if the public encounters suspicious individuals or those impersonating employees, they can contact MEA Smart Life (downloadable only from the App Store or Play Store), LINE Official (search for MEAthailand - the account name must have a green shield), the website www.mea.or.th, or the MEA Call Center at 1130 (24 hours a day).
