Nam yuen: Throughout this morning, there have been clashes along the Thai-Cambodian border, especially in Nam Yuen District, Ubon Ratchathani Province, where local residents have evacuated their homes and are preparing to travel to safe areas.

According to Thai News Agency, at 10:00 a.m., the news team traveled to follow the villagers in Nam Yuen District who evacuated from their homes to the assembly point at Nam Yuen Witthaya School, according to the emergency plan that had been rehearsed. This assembly point is the central responsibility of Nam Yuen Subdistrict Municipality. It was reported that there were approximately 4,500 people ready to evacuate, divided into villages. There were 10 villages in total at this assembly point, including neighboring villages such as Si Wichian Subdistrict. Then there will be vehicles from the district in the responsible agency to board the evacuation vehicles to Det Udom District, which is a safe place because it is out of range of artillery fire.

Villagers evacuated in chaos after receiving the news from the community leader at 9:00 a.m. The village headman announced the news via telephone and online channels until everyone spread the word and gathered according to the initial evacuation plan. At present, there have been no reports of injuries or deaths in Nam Yuen District.

Villagers reported that they heard villagers telling each other over the telephone to evacuate immediately, which made them feel very scared. They took only the necessary items and ran out without thinking about their lives. They also wanted both countries to negotiate a peace deal quickly because they were affected by both the poor economic performance and debt. They also had to run for their lives to avoid bullets. They felt very stressed about today’s events.
