According to Thai News Agency, a major rally was organized by the People's Party, led by Mr. Nattapong Ruangpanyawut, the party leader and prime minister candidate, alongside Mr. Piyabutr Saengkanokkul, a campaign assistant. The event drew a large crowd, reflecting strong local support.
Mr. Nattapong expressed confidence that Udon Thani's citizens are prepared to vote for change on February 8th. He highlighted the two-round voting process, with the first round involving two ballots for the Orange Party and the second round, using a yellow ballot, aiming to support a new constitution and enhance the Election Commission's accountability. He stressed the need to amend the 2017 constitution to empower citizens in overseeing independent organizations.
The People's Party claims to be prepared in terms of ideology and administrative planning. They have introduced a comprehensive administrative team, focusing on collaboration across ministries and eliminating political factionalism. Over 40 administrative team members have been presented, with more anticipated if they form a government.
The party emphasizes its dedication to policy preparation, encapsulated in the "Blueprint for Transforming Thailand," which aims to create a better future for all. Policies focus on dismantling monopolies, reducing electricity costs, ensuring social security transparency, reforming land ownership, and addressing inequality through land taxes.
Mr. Nattapong urged voters to consider whether past political parties have effectively changed Thailand over the past decade. He pledged to work for everyone, irrespective of political affiliation, if the People's Party secures all 10 MPs from Udon Thani.
He concluded by encouraging voters to participate in the election and support the drafting of a new constitution, promising significant change and restored hope for future generations in Udon Thani and Thailand.
