Chaiyaphum: Cat lovers are heartbroken as a perpetrator poisoned four cats to death, with one in critical condition. CCTV footage clearly captured the incident. The owner has filed a police report with evidence against their neighbor, asking what motive behind such a act.
According to Thai News Agency, a security camera in front of a house in Nong Na Saeng Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chaiyaphum Province, captured footage on the night of March 7th showing a cat foraging for food in front of the house. Shortly after, someone came out of the house and found the cat lying on the road. They picked the cat up and brought it inside to help. On the road in front of the house, discarded canned food was found, believed to contain poison mixed with canned fish, which was left there for the cat to eat, resulting in its death.
This morning (March 8), Mr. Jitrakorn, 51, went to check the CCTV footage at the neighboring house of Mr. Sakda, 33, but couldn't find his cat. He then went searching and found Mr. Jitrakorn's cat in critical condition, while Mr. Sakda's two cats, a mother and kitten, were both dead. He brought the CCTV footage, the critically ill cats, and cat food to the Mueang Chaiyaphum Police Station to file a lawsuit against the person who poisoned the cats. He suspects it's a neighbor, a tomboyish woman around 55 years old. Latest reports from neighbors via a group chat indicate that four cats have already died from poisoning.
