Nikorn Chamnong Assumes Role as MP Following Sabida Thaiseth’s Resignation

Bangkok: Mr. Nikorn Chamnong of the Bhumjaithai Party has officially reported to the Secretariat of the House of Representatives, stepping into his new role as a Member of Parliament. This development follows the resignation of Ms. Sabida Thaiseth, whose departure has created a vacancy in the House.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Nikorn Chamnong's appointment comes in accordance with the procedures outlined by the Election Commission and the announcement of the House of Representatives. The announcement, dated March 4, 2026, detailed the election results and highlighted Ms. Sabida Thaiseth's election to the House of Representatives as the fifth candidate on the Bhumjaithai Party's list. However, with her resignation effective April 2, 2026, her membership was terminated as per Section 101 (3) of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand, B.E. 2560.

In line with Section 105 (2) of the Constitution, the next eligible candidate from the Bhumjaithai Party's list, Mr. Nikorn Chamnong, has been appointed to fill the vacancy. The transition was overseen by Ms. Sirithorn Limpapayom, Deputy Secretary-General of the House of Representatives, who officially welcomed Mr. Chamnong into his new position.
