Bangkok: The Election Commission of Thailand (ECT) has reported a significant turnout for advance voting registration, with a total of 937,061 people signing up after a 13-day registration period.

According to Thai News Agency, the ECT's summary includes registrations from both within Thailand and abroad. Specifically, 4,617 individuals registered to vote early within their own constituencies, while 856,813 registered to vote outside their constituencies. Additionally, 75,631 Thai citizens residing overseas have registered for advance voting.

The registration window, open from December 20, 2025, to January 5, 2026, aims to accommodate citizens with essential commitments that prevent them from voting on the official election day, February 8. This period also covers Thai citizens living abroad and officials appointed to work on election day.

For those who initially registered for advance voting but decide to participate in the general election instead, there is an option to cancel their advance voting registration. This flexibility allows them to cast their vote in the general election and participate in the referendum scheduled for February 8, 2026.
