Bangkok: The People's Democratic Party (PDP) has affirmed its adherence to the Election Act in relation to the Laser ID issue, expressing no concern over the petition seeking the party's dissolution. Furthermore, the People's Party also confirmed its compliance with the Election Act on the same matter, highlighting that it had previously secured permission to connect to the network during the times of the Future Forward Party and the Move Forward Party.
According to Thai News Agency, Parit Wacharasindhu, spokesperson for the People's Party, addressed the party's request for authorization to utilize data and connect to the Department of Provincial Administration's Laser ID system. He clarified that the party had issued a statement the previous day, asserting that no laws were breached concerning the request for permission from the Department of Provincial Administration. Wacharasindhu emphasized that the party did not seek permission to have citizens input their Laser IDs without consent, stressing that public consent is essential for this process. He mentioned that past permissions from the Department of Provincial Administration were successfully obtained for both the Future Forward Party and the Move Forward Party. The party has now submitted a new request and plans to resume requiring citizens to enter their Laser IDs once the connection with the Department of Provincial Administration is fully reestablished. This process, currently on hold, will recommen ce upon approval.
