People’s Democratic Reform Committee Files Complaint Over Advance Voting Management

Bangkok: The People's Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) has lodged a complaint with the Election Commission of Thailand (ECT) through its legal representative, seeking an investigation into the commission's management of the advance voting day. According to Thai News Agency, the People's Party, via its lawyer, has secretly submitted a letter to the Election Commission. This letter calls for an inquiry into the handling of advance voting, highlighting specific issues encountered on Sunday, February 1st. The complaints focus on failures by polling station officials outside the electoral district to properly fill in the necessary details of eligible voters on ballot envelopes (Form S.S. 5/2). Moreover, it was noted that several central polling stations did not display the list of candidates for constituency-based parliamentary elections (Form S.S. 4/14). The Election Commission was expected to be present at their office by 8:46 AM, attracting a significant media presence eager to report on the developments. H owever, the commission's representatives had not yet arrived at the time. Inquiries with the general affairs officer, who oversees document handling, confirmed that the People's Party had previously submitted this request, adding to the urgency of addressing these electoral concerns.
