Pheu Thai Candidate Reports Vandalism of Campaign Signs

Bangkok: A Pheu Thai parliamentary candidate has taken swift action following the vandalism of his campaign signs. Mr. Pongsakorn Rattanareungwattana, who is running as a candidate in Bangkok Constituency 14, covering the Bang Kapi-Wang Thonglang area, reported the incident to Lat Phrao Police Station. His complaint centers around a breach of the Criminal Code, specifically Section 358, which pertains to the offense of damaging property. This crime carries the potential penalty of up to three years of imprisonment, a fine of up to 6,000 baht, or both.

According to Thai News Agency, authorities quickly responded by inspecting the location at Soi Nawamin 21 in the Khlong Chan Subdistrict of Bang Kapi District. Upon reviewing CCTV footage, they discovered that the vandalism occurred on December 25, 2025, at 00:19 AM. The footage revealed four individuals disembarking from a white pickup truck and proceeding to deface Mr. Pongsakorn's campaign sign for the Pheu Thai Party, subsequently replacing it with a sign from a rival party.

Mr. Pongsakorn, expressing his determination to seek justice, remarked on the need for legal recourse. He condemned the actions as damaging, illegal, and indicative of a disregard for political etiquette. 'I demand justice and fairness. Such actions have caused damage, are illegal, and demonstrate a lack of political etiquette. It is unconstructive behavior,' he stated.
