Pheu Thai Party Unveils 500 Candidates, Emphasizes Structural Policies for Thailand’s Progress

Bangkok: Pheu Thai unveiled its list of 500 prospective candidates for both constituency and party-list MPs under the slogan ‘Pheu Thai can do it, make Thailand great, choose Pheu Thai.’ Jullapan declared that Pheu Thai is the only party that proposes structural policies.

According to Thai News Agency, the Pheu Thai Party held an event to launch its candidates for the 400 constituency seats and 100 party-list seats in the House of Representatives. The party leader and prime ministerial candidate delivered a vision speech and welcomed the candidates.

Mr. Chulaphan Amornvivat, leader of the Pheu Thai Party and prime ministerial candidate, stated at the launch event for prospective parliamentary candidates that he is confident that the Pheu Thai Party is the only party that offers structural policies to develop the country, solve people’s problems, and propel the nation forward. He said, “We will fight against the forces holding the country back, such as political conflict, government instability, and issues of the rule of law. To overcome these challenges, the Pheu Thai Party offers itself as a force alongside the people to drive Thailand forward through three pillars in its policy design: the economy, security, and the rule of law.”

Economic pillars: We must set a precise and clear compass for Thailand. The Pheu Thai Party aims to drive GDP growth of at least 5% within four years, address inequality through strategic trade and fiscal policies, and elevate Thailand to a high-income country through technology and innovation.

The second pillar is security. The Pheu Thai Party prioritizes military security, cybersecurity, and environmental security.

Regarding the rule of law, in addition to the economic dimension, we recognize the importance of justice and upholding democratic principles. These are crucial in building confidence in Thailand and gaining acceptance from the international community. With these three pillars in place since 1998, the Thai Rak Thai Party, founded by Thaksin Shinawatra, has consistently implemented policies that address the needs of the people and stood by their side.

Mr. Chulaphan further stated that the Pheu Thai Party is a political institution committed to working to solve the people’s problems and create a better tomorrow. The upcoming February 8th election comes amidst multiple crises in Thailand, including constitutional issues, social divisions, border issues with neighboring countries, and economic hardship affecting the quality of life. This election is therefore crucial and will be a significant turning point for Thailand. We are not here to introduce candidates, but to declare our readiness: the Pheu Thai Party is ready, Thailand is ready. Change must begin this very moment. The people’s opportunity and hope start here. The Pheu Thai Party can do it, and Thailand can do it too.

He further stated, “The Pheu Thai Party is diverse but shares the same spirit, and we believe that only we can lead the country out of poverty. Many try to demonize people to scare them, but we do not neglect structural problems and solving problems for the people. Do not be afraid of development; only we will lead the country forward. We are the Pheu Thai Party, and only the Pheu Thai Party can do it.”
