Bangkok: “Phumtham” expressed confusion regarding his potential reassignment to the Ministry of Commerce, emphasizing his commitment to the Ministry of Defense but expressing readiness to serve in any capacity. He attributed the cabinet reshuffle news to individuals with specific objectives.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Phumtham Vejjayachai, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, addressed the ongoing rumors about a cabinet reshuffle. The speculation suggests that he might return to the Ministry of Commerce while Mr. Sutin Khlangsaeng might take over the Ministry of Defense. Phumtham stated he has not received any official signals regarding such changes. The Prime Minister, he noted, has consistently advised ministers to work diligently and collaboratively, emphasizing the importance of substantial work during the current crisis.

Phumtham mentioned that the Prime Minister has repeatedly assured the media that there are no plans for a cabinet reshuffle. He emphasized that the Prime Minister holds the sole authority to make such decisions, and any talk of reshuffling from other sources holds no weight. Phumtham believes the ongoing discussions are speculative and possibly driven by individuals with particular motives. He urged the public to focus on the actual work being done.
