Pita Limjaroenrat Launches US Tour in Los Angeles to Engage Thais Abroad in National Development

Los angeles: Pita Limjaroenrat, former leader of the Move Forward Party, recently commenced his US tour in Los Angeles, calling on Thais residing overseas to participate actively in shaping the future of Thailand by voting in elections and referendums. His initiative supports the People's Party's policies aimed at leveraging the global Thai diaspora's talents for national development.

According to Thai News Agency, the event, held at the Thai Temple in Los Angeles, was a lively gathering where Mr. Pita engaged with Thais in the US on issues concerning the political future of Thailand. The discussion featured contributions from Ms. Kulthida Rungruangkiat, a former MP from the Future Forward Party. Mr. Pita emphasized the need for a government that supports Thais worldwide, addressing concerns about domestic opportunities and encouraging participation in the political process.

Mr. Pita highlighted conversations with Thais abroad who are hesitant to return due to limited job opportunities in Thailand. He advocated for the People's Party's proposal to create a "Brainpower Platform," which aims to harness the expertise of Thais globally, feeding directly into government policies. This initiative draws inspiration from Estonia's Talent Pool and seeks to establish comprehensive support for Thais overseas, including streamlined voting processes and emergency assistance systems.

The dialogue extended to questions about potential constitutional changes and the importance of engaging Thais abroad in the referendum process. Mr. Pita expressed optimism that with improved governance and infrastructure, Thailand could become an attractive destination for returnees, ultimately benefiting from their international experience.
