Yotsanan Wongsawat Appeals to Lamphun Residents for Support in Prime Ministerial Bid

Lamphun: Yotsanan Wongsawat, a prime ministerial candidate from the Pheu Thai Party, visited Lamphun Chatuchak Market alongside party leader Julaphan Amornvivat and election director Suriya Jungrungruangkit. The visit aimed to garner support for Pheu Thai's candidates, Chainarong Phuphisit for Lamphun Constituency 1 and Rangsan Maneerat for Lamphun Constituency 6.

According to Thai News Agency, Yotsanan was warmly received by the public, who greeted him with garlands of marigolds, sticky rice, pork cracklings, and chili paste. During his speech, Yotsanan spoke in the Northern Thai dialect, emphasizing his connection to the region. He expressed his vision for change in Thailand and questioned whether Pheu Thai could secure both constituencies and have a Northerner as Prime Minister again.

Yotsanan recalled his visit to Lamphun with former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra 20 years ago, highlighting the success of the "30 baht for all illnesses" policy. He explained the Pheu Thai Party's continued commitment to healthcare, announcing a policy for doctors to provide consultations via video calls and deliver medicine to remote areas. Additionally, the party aims to support Village Health Volunteers by advocating for legislation to enhance their welfare.

Addressing economic policies, Yotsanan reiterated the Pheu Thai Party's plans to provide financial assistance to low-income individuals, alleviate debt, reduce expenses, and increase income. He encouraged voters to re-elect Rangsan and Chainarong and also sought their support for his own candidacy.

Concluding his address, Yotsanan dismissed the notion of internal division within Pheu Thai, framing it as a revival of the Thai Rak Thai spirit within the party. He urged voters to support both the candidates and the party, expressing hope for his election as Prime Minister.
