Pattani: The Prachachart Party held its 69th annual general meeting at the Al-Imam Al-Nawawi Auditorium, Faculty of Islamic Studies, Prince of Songkla University, Pattani Campus. Pol. Col. Tawee Sodsong, former Minister of Justice and leader of the Prachachart Party, chaired the meeting, which was attended by key figures including Mr. Sukarno Mata, Mr. Sulaiman Bueanapeena, Mr. Abdulayee Samaeng, and Mr. Kamolsak Leewamoh.
According to Thai News Agency, Pol. Col. Tawee emphasized a people-centered strategy, highlighting the importance of utilizing political mechanisms to advance policies that improve the quality of life. He underscored that democracy extends beyond election day and must continually impact people's daily lives. Despite having a small number of MPs, the Prachachart Party is committed to adapting to societal changes and prioritizing both parliamentary and grassroots work.
Pol. Col. Tawee also expressed concerns about inequality in economic, security, and educational aspects in the area, where many children still lack opportunities. He reiterated the party's commitment to addressing these quality of life issues through direct engagement with the people's voices.
The meeting, attended by over 412 party members, marked the first major gathering since the recent election. It served as a platform to determine the party's future direction, strategies, and operations. The restructuring of the party's leadership included an increased proportion of women. A seminar on "The Future Direction of the Prachachart Party in the Political Context of the Southern Border Provinces" was scheduled for the afternoon, with closing remarks by Mr. Wan Muhammad Nor Matha.
