According to Thai News Agency, the Prime Minister acknowledged the sacrifices made by soldiers during the planting of the Thai flag, commending the army and the commander of the 2nd Army Region for their efforts in maintaining control and dismantling scammer networks. He also requested an explanation from the army regarding reports of Cambodian troops reinforcing their positions, while assuring that both countries continue to adhere to existing agreements.
Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, during his visit to inspect troops, highlighted the importance of supporting soldiers. He expressed gratitude to the armed forces, particularly the Commander of the 2nd Army Area and the Commander of the Suranaree Task Force, for their successful operations in areas like Prasat Khana. Anutin mentioned ongoing discussions with the Ministry of Culture regarding the restoration of Prasat Khana, emphasizing the need for stability before proceeding.
Addressing media reports on Cambodian military reinforcements, the Prime Minister advised the public to await information from security forces, noting that while sporadic reinforcements exist, they do not pose a threat to Thailand. He expressed hope that Cambodia will respect and abide by existing agreements and highlighted the presence of a Joint Border Commission (JBC) to address border issues.
The Prime Minister reassured villagers concerned about potential conflict, urging them to trust the Thai military. He thanked soldiers and officials for their dedication to national security and highlighted the government's commitment to ensuring positive developments for the public after the New Year.
During his visit to various locations, including the Amarin Checkpoint, Prasat Khanah temple, and a strategic wooden staircase built by Cambodian soldiers, the Prime Minister observed military operations and praised the courage of frontline soldiers. He also humorously remarked on the softer hand of a soldier during a handshake, acknowledging the bravery of those fighting to reclaim Thailand's sovereignty.
