Prime Minister Visits Ta Kwai Temple and Hill 350 to Encourage Troops

Ta kwai: The Prime Minister visited Ta Kwai Castle and Hill 350 to encourage the brave soldiers. He paid respects at the spot where two soldiers' bodies were found, had a meal with the troops, and pointed out the presence of a landmine box before questioning whether something 30 years old could still be in such perfect condition.

According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, along with his delegation, arrived at the operational base to encourage the troops serving on duty at the border. Mr. Anutin had lunch with the troops and observed their living conditions before proceeding to Ta Kwai Temple.

The Prime Minister paid respects at the Monument to the Defenders of Thailand before walking up to Ta Kwai Temple. He stopped to pay homage to the large Buddha statue at the base of Ta Kwai Temple and spoke with Luang Ta Yuen of Khao Sala Temple in Bua Chet District, Surin Province. Luang Ta Yuen advised the Prime Minister to replace the military equipment for the troops, as it had been purchased many years ago, and also suggested building a new road leading to Ta Kwai Temple, as the existing one was in disrepair.

Later, the Prime Minister walked to Ta Kwai Temple and spoke with and encouraged the officials stationed there. While walking up to the temple, the Prime Minister inquired about the fact that this site was a source of pride for the Thai people, pointing to the national flag in front of the temple and saying, "Look at this national flag."

The Prime Minister then proceeded to Hill 350 to encourage the troops, urging them to take care of themselves, thanking them for their sacrifice for the country, and saying he would return to offer encouragement again. He also praised the soldiers for their skill. During one moment, the Prime Minister pointed to a Styrofoam box containing a PMN-2 mine, saying, "Look, this is a box of landmines," and questioned whether the Styrofoam would remain in such perfect condition after 30 years, adding that they shouldn't think too much about it.

The Prime Minister visited the site where the bodies of the two brave soldiers were found. Initially, their bodies could not be brought down from Hill 350. The Prime Minister paid his respects by bowing at the spot where the soldiers sacrificed their lives before taking photos with the officials on duty on the hill.
