Bangkok: The Cabinet has approved the appointment of Proadpran Samanmit as the first female Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT). This historic decision was made following the Cabinet meeting on September 8, 2026, at Government House, with her term set to run from October 1, 2026, to March 31, 2029.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Lalida Periswiwatana, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, disclosed that the Ministry of Tourism and Sports proposed Ms. Proadpran's appointment, which aligns with the resolution of the SAT Board. Ms. Proadpran Samanmit has been an integral part of the SAT since April 9, 1991, and has held various key positions over the years.
Ms. Proadpran's career at SAT has seen her serve in numerous significant roles. From 2012 to 2017, she was the Director of the Public Relations Division. She then became the Director of the Governor's Office from 2017 to 2021. Her career trajectory continued as she took on the role of Deputy Governor of SAT for Strategy and Information Technology from 2021 to 2022. From 2022 to 2024, she served as Deputy Governor for Sports Promotion, and from 2024 to the present, she has been Deputy Governor for Professional Sports and Boxing.
In 2026, the SAT Board selected Ms. Proadpran Samanmit as the 14th Governor of SAT, marking a significant milestone as she becomes the first female to hold this position in Thailand's history.
