Bangkok: The public is being cautioned about misleading information circulating regarding the "Half-Price Co-Pay" scheme registration set for May 2nd.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Ratchada Thanadirek, spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, confirmed that the registration for the scheme has not yet opened, and any messages or links suggesting otherwise are to be disregarded as fake news. The "Thai Help Thai Plus" and "Half-Price" initiatives are indeed moving forward, but the public should await official announcements from the Ministry of Finance regarding registration dates.
Ms. Thanadirek emphasized that the government is committed to informing the public promptly through official channels as soon as the details are finalized. Additionally, the Government House's Thai Khu Fah Facebook page has issued a warning against believing or clicking on any links that falsely claim the registration will commence on May 2nd, 2026.
The "Half-Price Co-Pay Plus" project has undergone a name change and is now known as the "Thai Helps Thai Plus Project." The project's focus has shifted from solely stimulating the economy to also aiding the public in contributing financially to the economic system. The current government, led by Anutin Charnvirakul, implemented this change to reflect the project's updated objectives.
The "Thai Helps Thai Plus" project will operate under a 60:40 model, where the government covers 60% of expenses, and participants cover 40%. The project's duration has been extended from two months to four, with expected spending from June to September 2026. The project allocates a budget of 1,000 baht per month per participant over four months, totaling 4,000 baht. Participants are limited to spending a maximum of 1,000 baht per month, with any unspent funds not carried forward to subsequent months. All transactions will be conducted via the Paotang app.
The Cabinet is expected to discuss the registration timeline in a meeting scheduled for May 5, 2026, with plans to open registration later in May.
