Bangkok: The head of the Royal Rainmaking Project has opened up about being dismissed and is preparing to submit his resignation next week.
According to Thai News Agency, the Director-General of the Royal Rainmaking Department, Mr. Rachen Silapraya, has spoken out after being transferred to an inspector position. He accepts the order from his superiors but remains puzzled by the reason. Mr. Rachen is preparing to submit his resignation next week to uphold the dignity of his civil servant position.
Mr. Rachen Silapraya said he will submit his resignation letter next week following the Cabinet's approval of his transfer to the position of Inspector-General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, as proposed by Mr. Suriya Jungrungruangkit, Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives. He is prepared to accept the order, although he has questions about the reasons for the transfer.
Mr. Rachen stated that throughout his more than 30 years of public service, he has performed his duties with honesty and integrity, adhering to the principles of good governance. He emphasized that he is ready for an investigation, but in this case, he maintains that he is "not guilty" and has never received an official explanation for his transfer.
The decision to resign is a way to preserve the dignity of a civil servant. Mr. Rachen had originally planned to resign before retirement, and the expedited effect of this transfer order allowed it to take place sooner, paving the way for new management to take over. He believes that the department's crucial mission, particularly water management and disaster response, must continue for the benefit of the people and the nation.
Reporters reported that yesterday the Cabinet meeting approved the transfer of Mr. Rachen Silapraya from his position as Director-General of the Department of Royal Rainmaking and Agricultural Aviation to the position of Inspector-General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, swapping positions with Mr. Wittaya Kaewmee, who will assume the position of Director-General of the Department of Royal Rainmaking.
