Hat yai: The Royal Thai Army is accelerating its efforts to provide relief to residents affected by severe flooding. Military engineers have been ordered to navigate the flooded areas to deliver essential supplies, such as food and drinking water, and to aid in the evacuation of injured and bedridden individuals.
According to Thai News Agency, at 5:00 PM on November 27, 2015, the Royal Thai Army dispatched a team of engineers to bolster the operations of the 4th Army Area Disaster Relief Center’s Forward Command. This initiative is focused on supporting flood victims in the Tourratchakan Market area and the Pom 6 Community, located within the Hat Yai Subdistrict of Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province.
The personnel are utilizing multi-purpose tracked vehicles, known as Extreme V, which are specially designed to traverse deep water and withstand sharp underwater objects. These vehicles have been instrumental in distributing food and drinking water to 160 households affected by the flooding. Additionally, individuals injured by glass while navigating the floodwaters were transported to the Senanarong Camp Hospital for medical treatment.
