Royal Thai Police Enhance Security Amid New Year Celebrations

Bangkok: The Royal Thai Police are intensifying security measures as statistics indicate a significant increase of 3,221 homes being booked through security applications during the New Year period, with assurances from the police that security is fully guaranteed. The Royal Thai Police (RTP), through Pol. Lt. Gen. Yingyot Thepjamnong, the RTP spokesperson, announced that instructions from Pol. Gen. Kittirat Panpetch, the Commissioner General of the RTP, have been issued to all units to elevate security measures to the highest level during the New Year's Eve 2026 festivities. The "Leave Your Home with the Police" project is highlighted as one of four New Year's gifts aimed at restoring happiness and reducing anxiety for citizens traveling back to their hometowns or visiting other provinces.

According to Thai News Agency, a summary of the statistics shows that between December 22 and 27, 2025, a total of 3,221 homes were listed for the project. Of these, 2,927 households opted to use the "Vacation House Watch" application, while 294 registered through police stations. Currently, there are 3,149 homes under police supervision, with officials set to report inspection results to homeowners in real-time via an application.

To ensure maximum safety, the Royal Thai Police have outlined four key steps for citizens before they lock up their homes or travel. These steps include storing valuables securely, checking electrical and gas systems to prevent fires, ensuring all doors and windows are locked, and verifying that CCTV systems are operational online 24 hours a day.

Registration for this project remains open until January 5, 2026. The Commissioner General of Police has instructed police across all areas to increase patrol frequencies and closely monitor every house, ensuring that citizens can travel with peace of mind during this extended holiday period.
