Bangkok: "Saeng" has ordered provincial Election Commission of Thailand (ECT) directors to maintain close vigilance against vote buying in the final days leading up to the elections, particularly in the northeastern and southern provinces of Thailand.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Saeng Boonmee, Secretary-General of the Election Commission, conveyed these instructions through a group LINE chat directed at provincial election directors. He emphasized the importance of preventing vote buying in the critical two-day period before the elections. In his message, Mr. Saeng highlighted the regions of intense competition where vote buying is anticipated, urging directors to focus their efforts on deterring and apprehending any offenders to ensure a fair election process.

The message from Mr. Saeng specifically called on directors to pay heightened attention during the final days before the election, ensuring that any attempts at vote buying are detected and addressed. He also advised that monitoring should extend to all areas, taking into account the specific conditions of each locale, and should continue until the night before the election.
