Senate Rejects War Powers Act Bill, Supports Trump’s Stance on Iran

Washington: The U.S. Senate has rejected a bill under the War Powers Act aimed at limiting the president's authority to initiate military actions, with a 53 to 47 vote largely reflecting party lines. This outcome was anticipated, given that President Donald Trump's Republican party maintains a majority in both the Senate and the House of Representatives, allowing him to veto any military action against Iran unless a two-thirds majority in the House is achieved.

According to Thai News Agency, the House of Representatives is set to vote on the same bill today. Similar results are expected as the dynamics in the Senate are mirrored in the House, where Republicans also have a majority, reinforcing President Trump's position on the matter.
