Seri Phisut Accuses Prime Minister and Minister of Unethical Conduct Over Khao Kradong Land

Bangkok: Seri Phisut Temiyaves, a Member of Parliament from the Seri Ruam Thai Party, has filed complaints with the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) and the Election Commission, urging investigations into the ethics of Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and Digital Economy and Society Minister Chaiyanok Chidchob. The complaints pertain to allegations of encroachment on railway land at Khao Kradong.

According to Thai News Agency, members of the Seri Ruam Thai Party have been actively pursuing legal proceedings against the Prime Minister and Mr. Chaiyanok, who is also the Secretary-General of the Bhumjaithai Party. The Buriram Provincial Court and the Administrative Court have previously determined that over 5,083 rai of land in question belongs to the State Railway of Thailand (SRT). Despite lawsuits filed by the SRT to reclaim the land, it has not yet been returned. The situation is currently being addressed through two distinct channels.

Firstly, documents will be submitted to the NACC to initiate criminal proceedings. The goal is to present the case to the Constitutional Court, questioning the integrity and qualifications of Prime Minister Anutin and Minister Chaiyanok due to their alleged possession of the Khao Kradong land. The complaints argue that this action violates ethical standards as stipulated in the Constitution, potentially disqualifying them from their official positions.

Secondly, the Election Commission is set to receive documents tomorrow for further submission to the Constitutional Court. This aims to question the qualifications of both political figures in their current roles, emphasizing the need for a constitutional review of their eligibility to hold office.

Further actions are planned, with Pol. Gen. Seri Phisut intending to visit Buriram Province next week to gather additional information on the land ownership issues at Khao Kradong. This information is expected to serve as supplementary evidence in the ongoing investigation.
